Reading and Writing 📚🔡

This week Room 3 have been working hard to improve their reading and writing skills. In reading, we have been looking at sounding out words and using picture clues to recognise unfamiliar words. We are getting really good at using these skills to improve accuracy. We have spoken about our common words too and get very excited when we see these in our reading books.

As part of our Literacy, we have also started writing dictated sentences using the sounds we have learned so far. This week, we used reading skills such as sounding out words to help up write words independently. Mrs Rae is so proud of our sentences so far! She even gave us an extra challenge to try and add a capital letter at the start, full stop at the end and not to forget our finger spaces. The more we practise, the better we get. Have a look at some of our writing below.

We have also spent time perfecting our Nativity performance this week and can’t wait to show this to audiences. We are very excited!
