P7 UGS Numeracy Challenge

November 15, 2024 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

On Tuesday this week, Uddingston Grammar (UGS) held the Newton Farm heats for the Numeracy Challenge transition event. Mrs Kennan (Head of Mathematics at UGS), along with some S6 helpers, led the challenge where each of the ten groups had to work as a team to answer seven clues. The first two teams to answer all the clues received a key that opened a treasure chest full of tasty treats to choose from! The winning teams will be attending the Numeracy Challenge final in December along with the finalists from each other UGS catchment school. More information on this event to come.

Here’s what some of our pupils had to say about the event:

“The teamwork part was very fun!” – Lennon

“I thought it was fun that we had to go in groups to discuss the answers and work out the challenges together.” – Jack

“It was fun getting to meet the S6 helpers and working with them.” – Emily

“It was really quite fun and I liked how the challenges were different. The decoding challenge was so much fun!” – Daisy
