Hello,

Thank you so much to the family members that made it in to see the work we do in last week’s showcase.

I am sorry I don’t have more pictures from the last two weeks but we have been non stop in Room 23!

Maths and Numeracy: We have been working on finding strategies that work for us when calculating long multiplication. We have also begun our block of money and have been learning about currency, interest rates and calculating change.

Literacy: We have started our new wordless book ‘The Arrival’ which we have been loving. We learnt about Ellis Island in New York which Shaun Tan took inspiration from in his illustrations.

HWB: We have added an ‘Acts of Kindness’ display to our classroom. This is to encourage the pupils to spot acts of kindness from their classmates and note it down next to their picture. I am sure they will be filled in in no time!

Book Week: We have had a busy week celebrating Book Week Scotland. We have had reading quizzes, mystery teachers and a reading session with our parents. We are going to continue celebrating all year as our love of books doesn’t just last one week. Thank you so much to the family members who came to read with us today and thank you for the book recommendations for me! I will add them to my list.

Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
