Good afternoon everyone,
This week we have been celebrating ‘Book Week Scotland’ throughout our school.
The boys and girls have really enjoyed taking part in lots of reading activities. Please see below:
On Monday we had the opportunity to look through our new Book Bug bags and some of our adults joined us.
We started reading books in class and talked about using our pointing finger to follow the words. We used the picture clue in our books to read any unfamiliar words. The boys and girls have all really enjoyed getting their own reading books and area feeling very grown up that they are able to read.
The reading ambassadors came to visit our class and read the book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They then got everyone to draw a caterpillar and put some funny clothes on them.
At assembly we carried out a reading book quiz, which was lots of fun.
Room 1 had a visit from a mystery reading, which they were all very excited about. Our mystery reader was Mrs Kelly from Primary 3 that read the boys and girls her favourite story Zog.
Have a lovely week.
Thank you
Mrs Ventre and Room 1
