What a Week in Room 27!

It has been a super busy week again in Room 27!

We have continued to develop our skills in addition with carrying – all the way up to four digit numbers. We have been practising our times tables every day and have been learning how to estimate and check lengths with more accuracy. We can record lengths in millimetres, centimetres and metres.

We used our research about rainforests to help us create information reports. Some of us used the Chromebooks for this piece of writing. We also started Google Slideshows that we will use to collate everything we learn in this topic.

We enjoyed a visit from Iain and Laura from the Chaplaincy Team on Thursday for the ‘Boomerang’ workshop. This taught us all about resilience and encouraged us to keep trying, even when things are tough. We loved creating our own little ‘resilience eggs’ during the workshop.

On Friday we started to learn Scottish dances in PE. We have already mastered The Canadian Barn Dance and started to learn another. It was so much fun!

We ended the week with a very special afternoon where we all took part in our ‘Pupil Voice’ Groups. These included gardening, sports, Fairtrade, Expressive Arts, Modern Languages and many more. Ask us about the group that we took part in.

Here are some of our highlights:

“I enjoyed going to my group and the games we played there.” MN

“I liked coming up with ideas for how to get the whole school reading.” AG

“I enjoyed the measure work we did today.” SM

“I liked the maths games we played to practise times tables,” JD

“I liked doing measure.” BM

“I liked the Scottish dancing in PE. We did it again at lunchtime.” KH

“I enjoyed writing our rainforest reports.” LW

“I really liked Scottish Country Dancing.” AR

Have a lovely long weekend.
