GIRFEC is central to all Scottish Government policies which support children, young people and their families and is delivered through services and people who work with families.
GIRFEC is implemented in partnership with local delivery partners (local authorities, health boards and the third sector), by providing access to early help, planning and co-ordination of services where beneficial.
The overall GIRFEC approach is unchanged but guidance is being refreshed and updated. The Scottish Government wishes to consult with key stakeholders to ensure that the materials provide practitioners with the confidence, clarity and practical support to deliver GIRFEC.
