If, through your work, you help to improve the wellbeing of children, young people and families then the Common Core is valid for you and demonstrating its characteristics and values will make you better able to meet their needs.

The Scottish Government report –Common Core of Skills, Knowledge & Understanding and the Values for the Children’s Workforce in Scotland– draws on the views of children and young people about what they want from those who work with them. It also reflects the areas of agreement from respondents to a public consultation.

So no-one should be surprised by the content of the Common Core, but the question to ask is not whether you demonstrate the characteristics within the Common Core, but how well you do it.
