Improving Attendance – Every Day Counts

At Wallacewell Primary we are passionate about getting it right for the pupils we work with. In order for us to meet learners needs, we require pupils to be in school and on time each day. Missing school negatively impacts on pupils academic, emotional and social development.

If you require any support with your child’s attendance please do not hesitate the contact us at the school.

At the science centre on Thursday First we went to go see the planetarium room we got to see a bunch of stars and planets we even got to see inside of Saturn’s rings. When we were going to another planet or star there was an orb that made it feel like we were moving.Meanwhile after that we had a snack downstairs then after that we went to floor three. There were stuff like skeletons and there was a dance room as well there was also a  little skeleton tunnel that you could crawl through.I tried the pull up thing and I tried to run as fast as a cheetah it was very cool. There was also two jumping things one was something where you try to jump as light  as you can I tried it and when I did it I jumped so lightly it said something went wrong are you there no joke the other one told you how high you jumped and I think it was rigged because it kept on saying 1m 48cm no higher. Also there was this mind set you have to relax and keep still there was this little ball that moves when you are relaxed when you get the ball to the other persons side you win but if the ball comes to your side they win.On level two there was a pattern memory game were you can pick levels like hard easy or medium so basically it made a pattern to get to the end and you step on the blocks that light up and if you step on the wrong one you lose.on level one there was a upside down room everyone loved it and there was a little room that it looked that you where big one one side and one the other side it looked like you where tiny. Then last we had some lunch went on a bridge and saw the oldest steamboat in Glasgow.

PARKS FOR PEOPLE SCHOOL EVENT INVITE

Dear Families,

We would like to invite all parents, carers and wider family members to a community event being held at Wallacewell Primary on Thursday the 13th of February 2025 at from 1.30pm. The event has been organised by Parks for People to consult with families about what they would like their local parks and greenspaces to look like. This is an exclusive event for families at Wallacewell Primary School. Similar events are being held locally by Parks for People for other local residents. Please see attached flyer for further information. Children in the school are already part of this consultation and with the support of our Community Development Student, Anna, they are sharing their views about the parks and greenspaces locally. This is a fantastic opportunity for local people to share their views and in turn help to improve our local area. We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday the 13th of February 2025 at 1.30pm.
