Nurture at Wallacewell Primary – What does it mean?

Today at assembly we have been learning about one of our values – NURTURE.

We know that to grow and develop we all need NURTURE.

We know that to be NURTURED means you have a caring and stimulating place to live and grow.

We know that part of being NURTURED is being recognised that you are unique.

We all want and need to be NURTURED. It helps us to grow and develop.

P4a Weekly Update

It’s been a fun and exciting week in P4a! On Wednesday, we had a fantastic trip to the Glasgow Science Centre. There was so much to do and explore!
Back in class, we planted flowers and wrote clear instructions on how to do it.
In maths, we’ve started learning about fractions, focusing on equivalent fractions and how different fractions can represent the same value.
We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day and we were thrilled to have author, Rob Biddulph visit today. We even learned how to draw a rhinoceros in a top hat! Now, we feel inspired to write and illustrate our own stories.

Improving Attendance – Every Day Counts

At Wallacewell Primary we are passionate about getting it right for the pupils we work with. In order for us to meet learners needs, we require pupils to be in school and on time each day. Missing school negatively impacts on pupils academic, emotional and social development.

P4a Weekly Update

It’s been a short but busy week in P4a! We’ve learned all about the eight points of a compass and used our new skills to create treasure maps. We then wrote detailed instructions on how to find the buried treasure. In our topic work, we explored the first  Viking raid on Lindisfarne. We also had a fantastic time at our Golf It session today!

P4a’s Weekly Update

P4a have had a busy week! In maths, we explored different division strategies and practised telling the time. In literacy, we learned how to distinguish between fact and opinion, and in writing, we created detailed instructions.

As part of our topic work, we discovered Scottish inventors and famous landmarks. We also explored the Scots language and even had a go at writing a paragraph about ourselves in Scots – it was great fun!
