Parent Survey Results 2016
We had a good response to our parent survey for this year and we are now able to share the results following collation of all the responses received. The results of this survey, combined with the results of similar consultations with pupils and teaching staff, have been used to identify and support priorities for next year’s school Improvement Plan.
The report can be viewed here: Parent Carer Survey Report 2016 – Back
Updated Withdrawal Form
Following feedback from parents, we have updated and made changes to the form used to notify the school of intentions to withdraw children for planned short periods for holidays, family events, sports participation etc.
The form now includes guidance notes for parents that include information about the process and how such absences are categorised. The revised form has been added to the ‘School Forms’ page of the website and can also be downloaded using the link below.
Sharing the Learning at Pupil-Led Events
Today, we held our annual pupil-led events with our Sgoil Araich, E1-2 and G1-3 classes welcoming parents to visit in the afternoon and our other classes in the evening.
The children thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to share with parents and families the learning they’ve been doing throughout this year and we’d like to thank everyone who was able to join us during both the afternoon and the evening.
We’d also like to thank our pupils and staff for all the hard work they put into preparing for this event.

EP6/7 News by Connor Cherrie
This week in class we have been busy making sushi as part of our Japan topic. We made it in time for our parents to come in and try it. We didn’t think they liked it very much! In maths we have started working on fractions. Today we all did our individual talks. They were all very interesting. It is now the holidays!
Active Schools Parent Volunteers
Active Schools are currently offering support and training to parents who may be interested in running after-school sports-based clubs at Sgoil a’ Bhac. Any parents who wish to declare an interest in this initiative will need to complete the form below and submit it to the school office by Friday 28th February.
Pupil Profiles
This week we sent home our pupil profiles to parents. This showed a selection of our work in maths and language over the last three months. It gave us a chance to talk to our parents about what things we enjoy and what things we need to work on in both areas. We hope that all the parents enjoyed seeing them and reading the comments! We will be adding more to them and sending them home again at the start of June. This time we will be selecting our own favourite pieces of work, in all areas of the curriculum, for inclusion in our profiles.
Christmas Assembly Service
We will be holding a special end-of-term Christmas assembly led by Rev. C I Macleod on Friday 20th December at 11.00am. We would like to extend an invitation to parents and families to attend this assembly with us.
If you would like to join us for this assembly, please contact the school office to confirm your place: 820230 or backschool@gnes.net.
