Following completion of a survey of parents of Sgoil Araich Loch a Tuath and Sgoil a’ Bhac in May 2015, the school has published a report of the findings. The report concludes with an action plan that sets out the improvements we are planning based on the opinions expressed through the surveys.

Today, the Parent Council held its first Free Dress Day with all the proceeds going to the DEC Nepal Earthquake Appeal. Today’s donations totalled £292.60. Thank you to all the children and families who supported this important cause.
The Parent Council are pleased to confirm that they will be holding their annual Summer Fun Day on Saturday 20th June 2015.

The school has recently benefitted from several financial donations from our Parent Council to go towards the purchase of new equipment and the support of pupil activities. Part of this donation came from the proceeds of the hugely successful summer fun day held last year that was so week supported by the whole community.
The Parent Council has made donations to the value of £2148.00 for the following:
Paying the cost of buses for the pantomime
A subsidy of £1 per pupil towards panto ticket cost
MPLC licence to view films/DVDs in schools
Six new digital cameras with memory cards and cases
40 high-quality headphones for computers and listening activities
A3 laminator for Sgoil Araich
144 new books for the school’s core reading scheme to replace lost and damaged books
Financial contribution to travel costs for P7 trip
Financial contribution to the school football team to cover travel costs to national finals in Dundee
Everyone at the school would like to thank the Parent Council and the wider Parent Forum for their on-going support. These contributions provide a significant benefit to our pupils.
This year’s Parent Council Christmas raffle raised an amazing £600. Tickets were sold at both concert nights and the winners were drawn in the school this morning. Winners were as follows:

Appointment times for next week’s Parent Appointment meetings will be sent home with children today.
Due to staff absence, the appointments for EP7 have been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. Appointments for siblings of EP7 children will go ahead as notified.
The next meeting of Sgoil a’ Bhac Parent Council has been changed to Tuesday 16th September at 7.30pm in the school. The meeting scheduled and advertised for Tuesday 26th August is cancelled. The Parent Council extends a warm welcome to all parents of Sgoil a’ Bhac and Sgoil Araich Loch a Tuath to attend.
The Parent Council held their first community fun day last Saturday. The event was very well received and there was an excellent turnout. The Parent Council would like to thank all the supporters and volunteers who helped to make the event such a success. Thanks also to everyone who came along and enjoyed the activities and events on the day.
Our Parent Council raised an amazing £845.76 on Saturday with an all-day bag-packing stint in Tesco. The Parent Council and the school would like to thank everyone who volunteered to help on the day. All your efforts are much appreciated and the funds raised made all that work worthwhile.
