We will be holding a special Easter assembly on Friday 18th April in conjunction with Rev. CI Macleod and Back Free Church. The assembly will be held in the church, starting at 10.00am.
We would like to extend an invitation to all parents and families to join us for this assembly. A return slip is included in the letter to parents attached below. We would be grateful if the slip could be returned by Thursday 17th April so we can ascertain expected numbers.
Due to the implementation of new bus contracts during the school holidays, there have been some changes to timetables in buses travelling to and from Sgoil a’ Bhac in the morning and the afternoon.
A revised timetable for all services to and from Sgoil a’ Bhac is attached below.

The summer term is upon us!
Welcome back everyone. We hope you all had a refreshing break and are ready for the start of the new term.
We will be confirming dates later this week for events taking place this term. They will be published on our website and circulated to parents when completed.
This term G4/5 studied the Ancient Egyptians and used this topic as a basis for literacy tasks.
We worked in groups and reported back to the class on the importance of the River Nile to them. We enjoyed showing off our “Wow” adjectives in our poems about the Nile crocodile.
Our main focus was looking at the importance of evidence from the past.
We enjoyed writing our names in hieroglyphs on cartouches.
We also invited Jack Duncan, student of archaeology, to talk to us about the work of an archaeologist,
He gave us a really interesting presentation and answered all our questions.
Mrs Duncan, who is Jack’s Mum, kindly helped us to write an Egyptian song, which we performed at the whole school assembly.

We had a successful day selling Easter eggs and made over £40! If you missed out today we do have some extras which we will be selling after the holiday.
This week in class we have been busy making sushi as part of our Japan topic. We made it in time for our parents to come in and try it. We didn’t think they liked it very much! In maths we have started working on fractions. Today we all did our individual talks. They were all very interesting. It is now the holidays!
We have been working with the G1-2 class from Stornoway Primary on our Literacy Project this term. They all wrote letters to us and we replied to them. It is great to have pen-pals and to have made new friends.
We have been busy working on a Literacy Project this term focusing on Julia Donaldson’s book ‘Na Caraidean’. We had fun making the paper dolls and wrote some friendship acrostic poems which we have displayed alongside them.
We have been busy this term organising a tuck shop which sells delicious snacks to the whole school every morning break. Our P5 girls, Ruby, Hannah and Cara, are the managers but we have all been helping to serve customers and keep the tuck shop running smoothly. We have had to practice using money so we always give the right change!
We have had some ‘special Fridays’ where we sell our own homebaking. One week we made delicious pancakes and they all sold out!
This term we have been busy learning about The Past. The children brought in some objects and photos from the past and we very much enjoyed looking at them and talking about them. We were also learning about famous building from the past and we discussed what the Isle of Lewis was like in the olden days.
We can’t wait to show our work from this topic at our open afternoon on Wednesday.
