On a bright and sunny Sunday morning, Ross Maciver and Claire Steven from Sgoil a’ Bhac gathered with the many members of the community to participate in a service of Remembrance at the war memorial in Back. As part of the ceremony, they laid a wreath on behalf of all the children and staff of the school.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
There were an impressive 88 shoeboxes collected at the school this year for the annual Blythswood Shoebox Appeal. We would like to thank all the children, families and staff who donated to the appeal this year.
The shoeboxes have now left the school and have begun their journey to eastern Europe to bring some seasonal cheer to those in need.
The pupils of Gaelic P4-5 have been very busy preparing a new flower bed in the garden area at the front of the school. Last Friday, they spent the afternoon planting spring bulbs that will hopefully provide a splash of colour as the growing season begins again next year.
