During my week of work experience I went to a law firm called Bridge Litigation UK. I spent most of my days observing court cases and carrying out some simple admin duties.

When I arrived on the Monday morning I introduced myself to all the staff there and told them a bit about myself. Once I had introduced myself and they introduced themselves to me I got told I was going straight to court with the trainee lawyer. Once we arrived I met the Procurator fiscal that was working with on this case with the law firm I was at. I had a conversation with Procurator fiscal about this case and what crime the man had committed and what sentence they thought the man was going to get. Before all court cases the lawyers have to go down and see the offenders so I was very fortunate to get this experience.

Every other day that week I attended court either for the full day or for most of the day. When I was only in court for part of the day I went back to the office and completed daily admin duties that the receptionist usually would carry out. I completed tasks like filing, reading over briefs and finding all the information about the witnesses.

During my week of work experience I worked with others, learnt how to file cases accurately and time management.

I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed my work experience week and would love to be able to go back one day and get more experience.
