After a successful release of over 600 balloons on a wet and windy afternoon we have now reached the closing date for the return of balloon race tickets.
It is with great pleasure that we now announce James Stirling in S5 as our winner. His Balloon was found over 120 miles away in Bowsden, Berwick Upon-Tweed.
We would like to express our gratitude to Mrs Norma Wilson who returned the ticket from the winning balloon.
Great credit is also deserved by the group of S6 girls (Iona, Connie and Eleanor) whose hard work made this year’s Balloon Race the most successful ever. Well done girls!
Congratulations and well done once again to James who will now be flying “Up, Up and Away” with 2 return tickets to one of the fantastic destinations courtesy of British Airways.
The Faculty of Design are hosting their first exhibition of the returning SQA Art & Design folios of work.
This is an excellent opportunity to see the creative talent of our pupils in both art and technical. The PTA will be providing refreshments during the evening.
The event takes place on Tuesday 20th December, 6:00-8:00pm. All are welcome.
Mearns Castle will launch both the House newsletter and House GLOW page on Monday 19th December.

Could all pupils who took part in the Watersports trip in June please ensure you are available for the PREMIÈRE screening of “Watersports 2011”. This will take place in the Theatre today and tomorrow at lunchtime. The show will start at 12.30pm and finish at 1.00pm on both days. Please ensure that you are seated for this time – don’t be late. Copies of the DVD will be issued to you as the credits roll.
