National Parent Forum of Scotland Careers Education

NPFS

The National Parent Forum of Scotland has been working with Skills Development Scotland as part of the programme of work underway in Developing the Young Workforce.

We are pleased to have produced some tailored information for parents, as part of our successful “in a nutshell” series, which covers the new Careers Education Standard launched at SLF 2015. This new nutshell will supply parents with basic information about the initial role of this programme in schools and signpost them to where they can get some more information if they need it.

The link to the nutshell on the NPFS website is  http://www.npfs.org.uk/career-education-a-world-of-possibilities/

Dear Parent / Carer

The Church Service will take place at Orchardhill Parish Church on Tuesday 22nd December starting promptly at 1.30pm – donations will be in support of the Salvation Army and all parents/carers are warmly invited to attend.  It would be appreciated if pupils did not go home for school lunch on the last day of term but if this is unavoidable could they please be returned to school by 1.00pm.

Following the service all pupils will return to school to be dismissed at 2.30pm.  Please note this early closure time for nursery and primary pupils and ensure that arrangements are in hand for their collection.  There will be no afternoon wraparound service for nursery pupils.

We wish you all a very happy Christmas break and would remind you that pupils return on Wednesday 6th January 2016 at the normal time.

Ken Macintosh visits Giffnock Primary

MSP Ken Macintosh visited Giffnock Primary School today to present a prize to a pupil in P6B. Each year Ken holds a competition to design a Christmas card (he says children are much better at drawing that he is!) and this year Jack in P6B was runner up.

Ken was met by Reyan from P5A who looked extremely smart in his party clothes. Ken then saw our brass band play some Christmas music and after presenting Jack with his prize, the whole assembly sang a Christmas song for him.
