Giffnock Primary believes that parents, carers and other family members can and do make a real difference to children’s education. When parents and schools work together, children do better.

Children learn a great deal at pre-school and school, and parents/carers can add to that learning by supporting them at home. For example showing an interest in their homework and talking to them about it really helps them to learn. With support and encouragement, children find it easier to get into the homework habit.

As we want homework to be a positive, meaningful part of our children’s learning experiences, we will periodically evaluate the content and process of completing homework with our children as well as parents/ carers.

During session 2023-24, most of our children will be accessing their homework guidance through a Google Classroom. We hope the following how to guide will support our families in using these:
