Christmas Circuit Training

The Transition boys Confident Individuals in their P.E. class. The boys had two areas. One was a body weight circuit and one was using the fitness machines in school. Every boy made a fantastic effort. Well done!

A Christmas Story

The Transition boys enjoyed a Christmas Story on the board this week. They were all Effective Contributors helping to find things on the screen and helping to tell the story.

Christmas Colouring Conundrum

The Transition boys were Successful Learners this week when they used their numeracy skills to solve a Christmas Puzzle. The boys solved sums in the boxes and matched their answers to the colour key. The result was a Christmas picture. Well done boys!

What Makes a Good Friend?

The Transition boys were Confident Individuals during their Health and Wellbeing lesson. We looked at different characteristics and chose those which we would like to see in a friend.  It was interesting to see the choices the boys made. Some were the same but each boy had a few characteristics that were different.

Hanukkah

The Transition boys were Effective Contributors at assembly this week. The theme was Hanukkah and the boys contributed well to the sensory work at each station. The boys enjoyed tasting food, making decorations and looking at different lights.

Christmas Science

The Transition boys were Successful Learners this week when they used their numeracy skills to complete some Christmas science tasks. The boys looked at snow formation and made some fake snow. They carefully measured the correct mass of ‘snow’ powder then the correct volume of water. Everyone was amazed when the snow fluffed up before their eyes.

In their second task the boys were challenged to create the tallest Christmas Tree using play-doh. The boys had to balance height and width to make sure that it would stand before it was measured. The tallest one (without banned structural support) was 27cm

Variety Club Christmas Party

The Transitions boys were Responsible Citizens when attending the Variety Club Christmas party. They had an absolutely fantastic day rocking their socks off.

Christmas Market Hospitality

The Transition boys had an ideal opportunity to put their hospitality skills in use. They were Responsible Citizens when they helped set up the café area for the Christmas Market. For their SQA Hospitality class the boys must follow instructions and work to the best of their ability. All boys did a super job!

Numeracy and Origami

The Transition boys were Successful Learners when they used their numeracy skills to complete two tasks. They made origami Christmas craft following numbered sections and creating ‘up’ or ‘down’ folds. They then made different 3D shaped snowmen again following a numbered pattern and had to match their shapes to a different set on the interactive board. Well done boys!
