Rebound with the Daisy’s and swimming FAOL

Can I just apologise for not having the camera handy when we were needing to set up in the Atrium quickly as the Friend of Willowbank had there very successful and love thank you event set up in the PE-hall.

I was too busy organising myself but………….Amazing !  How confident the Daisy’s performed with the interruptions from adults and pupils coming through still concentrating on the task at hand. Those who were lucky enough to see us, all got a boost from our performances and left with a smile on their faces.

In Swimming the Daisy’s all come with positive anticipation. Helping with the changing and drying and getting dressed afterwards where they can. We worked on our front and back and under water for some. We tried woggles, floats and balls. We swam for objects like small balls and ducks. When feeling confident we have one boys Hayden who can swim for a while without armbands, and a girl Chloe who can very shortly float on her back without armbands. All pupils still stay under close supervision at all times when we do these challenges though. Again thank you staff and pupils to make it such a successful year and pleasure to work with you.

We were successful learners and sortied the objects we had found into groups by colour.

FAOL- Mexican Cafe

We were successful learners last week when we invited our peers in the Sunflowers class to visit a  café to share what we have been learning all about Mexico.

We enjoyed trying lots of Mexican foods, dressing as traditional Mariachi musicians, and listening to Mexican music.

We had lots of fun and were confident individuals trying lots of foods that we hadn’t tried before.

FAOL- Science

We have been enjoying the nice weather and have been taking parts in water play.

We were Successful Learners and explored the properties of water by moving and pouring water from one container into another. We also enjoyed applying our maths skills to count how many jugs of water it took to fill a fish bowl.

FAOL- Eco Mariachi Guitars

We have been responsible citizens during term three and have been learning about countries of the world. We have been exploring Mexican culture through watching the movie ‘Coco’ and enjoyed creating our own versions of a Mariachi guitar.

We used recycled materials the build a guitar shape, then added lots of colour to personalise them. We were very proud of the final results!

National Numeracy Day

Today is National Numeracy Day so instead of doing literacy steaming this afternoon we did numeracy tasks with our groups. We were successful learners and effective contributors throughout the afternoon. We signed the numbers to ten. We all tried really hard despite the hand shapes being rather tricky. We then completed numeracy rotations we had to find numbers on the tuft tray and used a paintbrush to make them disappear. We had to count the number of flowers and then had to build a tower with the same number of blocks.

Superhero and Princess Day

Today we raised money for cash for kids and came to school dressed up as a superhero or a princess some of the boys and girls even came in their pjs.

This morning we had a special visitor Shirley Husband who wrote the Harris McCoo books she read us the stories and even brought Harris to visit us. We listened well to the stories and danced with Harris. He then opened our new soft play and we were able to have a go. We really enjoyed the ball pool and the new plane soft play to rock on.

In the afternoon we made our own crowns and shields and the Daisies and Buebells joined us to have a fabby superhero afternoon. We had soft play, a dvd, dancing and some craft. We mixed with different friends and had a SUPER afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!
