FAOL Science- Rain Cloud in a Jar

We have been learning all about Scotland through out theme and have been investigating the weather. We explored rain through creating our own cloud inside a jar. We made predictions about what might happen, then loved watching the ‘rain’ fall through the cloud.

FAOL Eco/ Sustainable Development

We have been learning all about Global goals 8 this term. We have been exploring the different jobs people can do and have been enjoying role playing as different people in the conservatory.

We also learned lots about Global goal 12- responsible consumption and production. We have been very responsible citizens and learned all about different kinds of pollution and how this affects the environment, humans and animals. We watch some videos about global warming before sharing our feeling with out peers, and made eco promises to walk on outings more regularly, recycle paper and plastic each day, and to litter pick to keep our school and local park clean and tidy.

FAOL Outdoor Learning- Autumn Art

 

We had lots of fun exploring the falling leaves throughout Autumn. We looked closely at the colours then choose similar colours to create our own leaf window art.

FAOL Whole School Project/ Citizenship- Burns Activities

We enjoyed celebrating Burns Night last week through creating our own Scottish tartan and having a mini ceilidh within our class.

 

We were confident individuals as we tried out new dance moves, and were successful learners as we applied our knowledge of Scottish tartan to make our own designs.

Independence in Home Economics

We have been trying to make different Scottish foods throughout our theme, and today we enjoyed making and trying Scotch pancakes.

 

We measured out the ingredients and mixed everything together before being very confident individuals and trying what we had made.

We have been trying to increase our independence through using the iPad to follow visual recipes, and to check what ingredients to add next.

Daisies Tartan

Today we had fun exploring different Scottish traditions and created our own tartan using strips of coloured paper.

 

We were confident individuals trying to independently cut, glue and stick the paper.

Scottish Dancing

We have been enjoying learning all about Scotland through our theme. On Monday, we were effective contributors and took part in a ceilidh with our peers and class staff.

 

 

We did very well to take turns, enjoyed experiencing the music, and copied new dance moves.

Colour Mixing Experiments

We worked very hard to mix different colours during our science work. We were successful learners and named different colours, then predicted what colours we though we were going to make.

Christmas Crafts

We had lots of fun applying our home economics skills to make some salt dough ornaments.

We added ingredients to the bowl, stirred them together and rolled out the dough. We also chose our favourite shaped cutter to press into the dough.

Daisies Class make poppies

The Daisies class learned all about Remembrance Day, took part in a minute silence and made their own poppies.
