To show how easily germs can be passed on from one person to another, one class member put green paint on his hands, to represent germs, and shook hands or high-fived other class members. We noticed that everyone ended up having green paint on their hands. This meant we all had germs on our hands! We did the experiment again and some people were given damp wipes to wipe away the green paint. This was to show the effect washing our hands can have on transferring germs.
We watched a short film about the importance of hand washing in different situations. The film told us that even though our hands look clean, we still can have tiny germs lurking there. Argh!
We made a poster to show when we should wash our hands and how washing hands can help stop the spread of disease and viruses.

Everyone in the Oak class were confident individuals and effective contributors at sports day. We all worked as a team during the relay race meaning we won 1st place.

Some of the boys in the Daisies enjoyed a 30minute sensory session today. They enjoyed exploring the exercise balls, peanuts, trampolines and tunnels for some active, physical fun.
They also enjoyed experiencing some body massagers and foot spas. They all found it really calming and relaxing!
We have been finishing up our Time SQA unit this week and looking back at how much progress we have made:
Amber has been working on telling the time in digital formats and calculation the duration of events.
Hugh has been working hard to recognise the time to the hour and thinking about how long tasks take to complete as well as ordering events and routines of the day.
Alysse and Leo have learned to read o’clock, half past, quarter to/past times and are now exploring time to the nearest minute.
Tyler and Emma have moved on to learning to read quarter to and past on an analogue clock.
We have been very successful learners this year during our SQA groups, well done Beech!
