IDL: Outdoor Learning Week

We have had a lovely time this week enjoying activities outside as part of outdoor learning week.  Here are some of our favourite snaps:

We learned about herbivores and carnivores and played a game of hide and seek with different herbivores and carnivores using the water guns! This was our favourite activity.

We measured the size of dinosaurs and compared them:

we made dinosaurs out of tree bark rubbings:


We made bubble snakes and bubble art.

POLO and Dancing in the Pine Room

This week is POLO Week, we went outside to the garden and looked for BUGS!!! We found a Bee, Woodlice and Worms.

We also had a lovely visit to the Kay Park to see the Swans and the Ducks too!

We had a fantastic morning with Karen, dancing to the lovely music the colours of India, a lovely drama story about a forest and different animals.

POLO week, Bake Off & Den Building

A busy week for the Oak class with lots of Outdoor activities for POLO week. We had fun using our problem solving skills to build a den and experience different sensory activities with our friends.

Oak class have also had lots of fun baking (and tasting) our entry for our Secondary Bake Off competition!

FAOL – Enterprise

This term we made a card and a gift for someone special in our life. It was Mother’s Day and we all made a card. We painted our hands and made lots of different coloured hand prints on a big piece of card. Some pupils were able to stick all the pieces together to create a vase of flowers. We also made cards and a superhero gift for our dad for Father’s Day.

We have experienced making marks on the ground using chalk. We have explored making shapes and colourful pictures. We were confident individuals holding the chalk and using it to make marks on the ground outside our classroom.

50 Things Outdoors- Picnic

Picnic

Now that we are getting better weather and the sun is out we have had our  snack in the playground with peers. We have prepared snack and taken it to the outside environment to enjoy it with peers. We chose snacks we  like an pd collected our plate to be taken outside. We sat at the picnic table and enjoyed eating out snack outdoors.

POLO Week

Effective Contributors

The Sunflowers have had a fantastic week of learning outdoors to celebrate POLO week. The children enjoyed a chalking, bike rides, outdoor play, bubbles  and a water fight with the Daisies class.

POLO Week in the Daisies!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *

The Daisies class have enjoyed this week’s Power Off, Learn Outdoors (POLO) activities.

We gathered twigs and branches and used them to make nature paintbrushes. We used them to make marks on paper and create our own painting creations.

We attempted to use sticks and create our very own stick rafts. We attempted to float them in water.

Finally, we enjoyed exploring water tuff trays and experiencing objects that float and sank.

50 Things Outdoors – Water Play

We enjoyed exploring a range of water related activities this week. Some of the class had a water fight in the sensory garden. We also all explored objects that floated and sank in water.

50 Things Outdoors – Having a Picnic!

The Daisies Class enjoyed preparing for a picnic in the park. We looked at Tesco online and chose our desired snacks and drinks.

We enjoyed finding the perfect spot at the Kay Park, setting up our picnic blankets and having a social snack.
