FAOL – Transition Create Sensory Artwork

The Transition class have been busy creating the characters from their book study, Thumble Tumble and the Ollpheist by A.H Proctor.

The excellent descriptions of the witches in the book have allowed the pupils to gather relevant materials from the art room which would best suit the characters.

We are beginning the sensory art journey with Thumble Tumble and Aunt Bessie…

Super successful learners today. Well done boys!

Food Tasting Fun!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Bluebells class were very brave when trying a range of themed foods today. We tried a range of foods that were in our theme film “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”. We tried watermelon, pretzels, chicken nuggets, hamburger, ice cream and even sardines!

All pupils tolerated tasting these foods or giving them a kiss.

IDL Theme Evaluation

The Snowdrops have been thinking about our Enormous Turnip story theme and choosing if we have liked or not liked the story.  We can do this through looking at pictures and using our Makaton signs.  Some pupils have also been choosing what has been their favourite Enormous Turnip story work.  We all like different things!

FAOL: Enterprise – Halloween Cakes

*Confident Individuals*                              *Responsible Citizens*

The Moonbeams made some biscuits during their Cookery lesson. We have been learning how to keep safe in the Cookery room when using appliances. Today we used the oven and identified that we needed oven gloves to keep our hands safe. The children enjoyed using a variety of coloured icing to decorate the biscuits before visiting the Comets class to sell them.

Weather Keywords!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS *

During our IDL theme “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”, the Bluebells class have looked closely at the weather. Today, the class had a challenge to see if they could read and recognise any weather words. They used the SMARTboard and matched the word to the picture and then had to sort the jumbled up letters to create the words sun, snow, rain, wind and cloud. Miss Gemmell was very impressed with our reading skills!
