P7 Leavers’ Ceremony

Yesterday we had the P7 Leavers’ Ceremony at 2pm. We had songs from everyone and Mrs Reid, Mr Archibald, Miss Primrose and many Pupils spoke. Prizes were awarded and then right at the end we had a last song to send off the P7s with Rio taking a starring role playing guitar – take a bow Rio.

We did our best to video the proceedings but as it was outside and the wind was blowing, the results aren’t what we hoped but we did our best in the circumstances:

And here was a video from Miss Davies:

P7 Criffel Challenge

On the 4th of June the P7’s went to climb up Criffel with Mr A, Mr Fitzgerald and Mrs Fitzgerald. First we got a mini bus from Brydekirk all the way to the bottom of Criffel. When we started to climb it was quite cool because there was a big stream going down the entire hill. It got a bit harder the further we went up and very steep. Then we got to the top. Not long after we had about finished lunch and all took a lot of pictures (see above). We soon found out that it would be a lot harder than we thought: the new path (that was fine going up) was only gravel and we all just kept slipping but after a few brakes we made it down. After we went to Drumuir Ice Cream Parlour for some ice cream – there were loads of flavours to choose from. Finally, we got on the mini bus and drove back to school before the bell rang. We had an amazing trip up Criffel!

The P7s

P7 Enterprise

The P7s have been working hard over the last few Thursdays and Fridays trying to help at the Brydekirk Toddler Group on Friday mornings. So far they have surveyed the Parents and Toddlers to see what they would like and have started to bake. With an initial loan (which they have now payed back) they bought some ingredients for short bread and have had two goes at making it.  The girls hope to continue to help out.

Well done!

Mr A

Criffel P7 Challenge

The P7s undertook a challenge today: to climb Criffel.

Alongside Mr Archibald and volunteer extraordinaire Mr Fitzgerald, they started the walk just after 10am. Despite a few early showers the P7s made good time and were at the top before midday, just as the cloud broke, revealing a lovely view. As we were back down in time, we all went for an ice cream on the way home, well done all.
