The Annan Riding of the Marches Principles visited Brydekirk Primary this afternoon. This is a tradition that has happened for many long years and long may it continue. Following an introduction and short speech from Stuart Thompson, the pupils entertained the visitors with singing. Next Mrs Sybelle Raey announced the prize winners from Brydekirk in the competitions, including poetry, handwriting, colouring and poster; well done to all who took part. Especially well done to Lilian who won best overall poem, 1st place in poetry, 2nd place in handwriting, Hannah 3rd place in poetry, Izzy and Poppy. The pupils then gave the AROM Principles a couple more songs and wished them good luck to send them on their way.

Some of our pupils were given the chance to create a piece of A4 artwork using traditional or contemporary methods on the theme of partnership. Here is how they interpreted this theme and expressed themselves, well done:
The P7s undertook a challenge today: to climb Criffel.
Alongside Mr Archibald and volunteer extraordinaire Mr Fitzgerald, they started the walk just after 10am. Despite a few early showers the P7s made good time and were at the top before midday, just as the cloud broke, revealing a lovely view. As we were back down in time, we all went for an ice cream on the way home, well done all.
Well done to the Netball team who competed at Hecklegirth on Wednesday.
Especially well done to Helayna who got the Player Award for Small Schools.
This term P4-7 took part in their own K’Nex Challenge: they had to build a windmill. Watch these time lapse videos of the class in action:
On their performance in class Ami and Rio were chosen to represent Brydekirk Primary at Annan Academy at the Cluster K’Nex Challenge, and they won, hurrah! Well done Ami and Rio.
