All Shapes and Sizes

The sound we have learned so far are s, a, t, p, i, n, c, k, e, h, m, r and d.

We have been using the Oxford Reading Tree Big Talking Cards to learn all about Mum, Dad and all the adventures the family have. We love to talk about what we can see in the pictures and Miss Davies and Mrs Mackay even have special puppets to help us remember who everyone is. Floppy is EVERYONES favourite.

We drew our favourite scenes from Sleeping Beauty and added speech bubbles to one of the characters in our picture. We stuck all our pictures in our floor book.

In numeracy we have been learning all about 2D shapes. We have been sorting, matching and drawing shapes. We liked to play the Feely Bag game where we could not see the shape but had to guess what it was by its features.

We also had our first school assembly and gym this week. We loved gym and were very good at balancing fluff balls using our bodies.

At the start of every week on our blog we will put some information about the following week in school.

Week Starting 12th September 2011

  • P1a1 have gym on Monday afternoon.
  • P1a2 have gym on Thursday afternoon.
  • Remember to return your Child Smile letters and your permission slips and money for our trip to the DCA Film Festival.
  • Book bags will be now issued on a Friday. Please read the book with your child over the weekend and return it to school on Monday morning.

On the day your child has gym, please ensure they have no jewellery and long hair should be tied up.

Next week we will be learning all about how to keep our teeth healthy.
