Strachur Primary raises £348.10 for MacMillan

strachur-ps-macmillan-fundraiser-sept-2016-1On Friday 30th September Strachur Primary held a MacMillan coffee morning. Primary 1-4 baked fruit loaf that week and Primary 5-7, fairy cakes. These were sold alongside many donations of cakes and home baking from staff and the wider school community. Primary 5-7 served all morning and were delighted with the final total of £348.10 for this very worthwhile cause.

MacMillan Cancer Support Coffee Afternoon

img_0942-copyPrimary 6 and 7 of Southend Primary School organised and held a Coffee Afternoon on Friday 30th September to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support where the terrific sum of £436.20 was raised. A huge thank you to Mrs Galbraith who helped organise this, and to all who gave so generously and came to support this very worthwhile cause. It is very much appreciated.

Dalintober P7 MacMillan Success

img_3166The Primary 7 pupils of Dalintober Primary always host a Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer and this year was no exception. The pupils made great preparations for the event beforehand, organising stalls and competitions, writing to local companies and planning roles for everyone on the day. They demonstrated fantastic organisation skills and teamwork and raised a grand total of £643! They were extremely grateful to the adult helpers who came in to lend a hand as well. Castlehill Primary School – Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraiser

castlehill-ps-macmillan-fundraiser-2Primary 2/3 and 3/4 held a Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraiser on Friday 23rd September.

P2/3 set their classroom up as a Baker’s Shop and sold delicious home baking while P3/4’s classroom was the cafe where the whole school were served juice and biscuits.

Autumn Education Programmes at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute

Mount Stuart Root Camp2Root Camp is a not-for-profit social enterprise committed to changing the consumer habits of young adults in the UK. They work with 14-21 year olds, spending a week in a rural environment, dividing time between cooking in a professional kitchen and hands on experience in the fields – planting, harvesting, foraging and fishing.

DGS Learning Centre at Kirn Gala

dgslearningcentrekirngala2016On Wednesday 24th August Dunoon Grammar School’s learning centre had a stall at Kirn Gala.
On our stall we had lots of Different plants, Home baking, Tablet, Fudge, Home grown Organic Vegetables and Herbs
The weather was very kind to us, The sun was shining and it was very busy .We had a very successful evening. We raised £206.49
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us.

P7 Graduation Dinner

Salen PS P7 Graduation 1 2016Salen Primary School Mainstream and Gaelic Primary 7s enjoyed a wonderful graduation dinner at The Galleon Grill in Tobermory. They were accompanied by their teachers, Mrs MacCrone and Miss Chase, and Head Teacher, Miss MacLean. The Galleon Grill presented the pupils with specially printed menus to mark the occasion which they all took away with them. A great night was had by all. We send the young people our very best wishes and hopes for the future.

Sunshine and smiles

Salen Marie Curie 1Salen Primary School pupils held a daffodil lunch to raise funds for Marie Curie. They were delighted to present one of our parents, Louise Scarlett, with a cheque for £400. An additional £116 was raised by holding a collection at the end of term service and the pupils requested that this also be donated to Marie Curie.

Rosneath Queens Birthday June 2016 5As part of her 90th Birthday celebrations, the Queen attended many functions and parties. Here at Rosneath Primary School, we took the opportunity to join in the celebrations with our very own Tea Party for Her Majesty. As you can tell by the faces (some of which had to be “scrubbed clean”) the whole School was very proud to come together to “devour” enthusiastically (but minding manners, of course) a lovely spread provided by Mrs Johnson (our Catering Supervisor) and her Staff.

Keeping healthy at Kirn Primary School

Kirn PS Keeping Healthy 1One of the last whole school events held in the ‘old’ building of Kirn PS was our annual Health Week. Fun and informative health promoting events were organised for the whole week involving all ten classes and our Early Learning Childcare Centre. We were so lucky that lots of the health professionals in our community offered their time and expertise to lead sessions.
