Pupils at Tiree Primary school were delighted to have a visit from the Depute First Minister John Swinney on 20th August.
Mr Swinney MSP was given a very warm welcome by the Tiree High School Pipe Band and Tiree Primary Gaelic Choir.
Mr Swinney MSP kindly took part in a ‘Depute First Minister Question Time’ and answered lots of our questions!
Our guides did a wonderful job showing Mr Swinney MSP around our school and did so with pride!

Christmas Post
Each year Tiree High School offer a local Christmas Card Postal service to their community. For the reduced cost of 25p local cards are sorted and delivered by children in the Primary Department.
This year our post was very busy – £124.25 was raised for school funds.
Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day at Tiree High School
Tiree High School took part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 15th December. Lots of silly jumpers were worn and made to raise £117.35 for the great cause.
‘Tiree Primary Visits Coll’
Primary 4-7 pupils experienced a very rare and exciting outing to Coll on Wednesday. The Clansman was buzzing with eagerness from members of our whole Tiree community. Once on Coll we found ourselves in an unfamiliar landscape of rugged hills and twisting, turning roads. Mrs MacKechnie impressed us all by manoeuvring the new mini bus past the few not so passable ‘passing places’!
