Calderwood Can Certificates
A massive well done to our learners on their achievements this week! We are so proud of your dedication and hard work! We also celebrated the achievements of three of our pupils who presented sphero robots at the Scottish Learning Festival.
On Monday 26th to Friday 30th September we will have the Scholastic Book Fair in our school. This will be held in the discovery den where a selection of fiction and non-fiction books will be on offer. All pupils will get the chance to visit the book fair with their clan during the school day between Monday-Wednesday. This is an opportunity for the pupils to explore and browse the different books that are available. All books can be purchased during our Champion Meetings in school on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th September.Â
Important InformationÂ
How does the book fair help Calderwood?
Every book purchased at the fair gives Calderwood Primary School rewards. These rewards allow us to get books for our school!

Our Calderwood Careers has launched! All of the pupils have had a fantastic first week in their new job. They have nurtured, encouraged and created a happy and safe environment in our playground. They are in the process of creating a timetable for their different areas of the playground- this is a chance for them to lead learning and activities. They will be sharing their careers at our Calderwood Connects on Friday!
We are so proud of all our learners who received a Calderwood Can certificate this week! There are lots of achievement across our Calderwood Communicates, Calderwood Cares & Calderwood Counts!
We are so excited to launch the P2 and P3 interdisciplinary learning context called Calderwood Careers. In this context, we will be learning about the world of work and the different jobs in our society. We will be exploring 3 different types of jobs:
We have asked all pupils in the P2 and P3 clans to bring in a 500ml plastic bottle for Monday 12th September to use in their Calderwood Consultants theme.
Thank you for supporting our school again!
The P2 and P3 clans!
We are so excited for the learning journey all pupils will be embarking on during Term 1 at Calderwood Primary School. Our whole school theme for our interdisciplinary learning this term is on the concept Maths. You will see that our champions and pupils have planned creative and innovative Maths learning contexts. Please find the learning overview for each stage for this term below:
We would like to say a massive thank you to our Parent Council at Calderwood Primary School for providing the funding to have the programme Languagenut in our school. This learning and teaching resource was at the heart of our 1+2 modern languages curriculum last year, and we are so excited for this to continue for the next 3 years. Thank you very much to everyone in the Parent Council for making this happen. Calderwood does languages! Please find further information about Languagenut below:
Languagenut is a learning and teaching resource used in Calderwood for delivering our 1+2 modern languages curriculum. This is a digital resource that pupils can access at school and at home with their own username and password. Calderwood trialled this resource last year and found many benefits to our pupils learning, for example: Â
Pupils can earn points for their achievements and can monitor their learning.
Our first certificates of Chapter 2 of Calderwood were presented at our Calderwood Connects today! We are so proud of all learners who received a certificate. Well done for showing kindness, effort and perseverance!
