Lammermuir

We have had a very busy term in Lammermuir – we have been growing strawberries and rhubarb in our garden along with some parsley we planted as part of Earth Day activities.  Our highlights have included Clown Doctors, learning to go on the trike and graduating from Nursery to P1.

Lammermuir staff would like to wish everyone a lovely summer holidays!

Lammermuir Term 2

This term in Lammermuir we have been busy celebrating lots of different events – From Children in Need to St Andrew’s day, World Children’s Day to Christmas.  We have taken part in cooking and baking activities, arts and crafts activities and some relaxing activities.

We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year!

From everyone in Lammermuir

Lammermuir -Term 1

We have loved settling into our new ELC this term.  You can see from the smiling faces in the photos that our children have been enjoying exploring the different areas of the school, both indoors and in the playground.  The children have been working extremely hard on important skills like playing and developing their independence using switches, benches and walkers.  So far we have shared the Very Hungry Caterpillar story and made lots of butterfly pictures, made our own scarecrow for our first cafe in the new school and have enjoyed lots of sensory art work using items such as shells, pine cones and twigs.  We hope everyone has a lovely holiday and a well earned rest.

Lammermuir – Term 1

Lammermuir have had a busy time since starting back in August.  We have welcomed two new pupils to our class.  We have been exploring different textures for messy play – some weeks we have even made our own mixtures during cooking groups and then played with it during messy play.  We were lucky to have a visit from Calum and his Cool Creatures – our learners loved feeling all the different animals that came to visit.  One individual has been working on mark making skills and has been independently drawing on the easel and on paper when they have their chair tray on.  Another has been communicating likes and dislikes through their facial expressions and body language, they are very good at showing us the things they enjoy as their whole face lights up!  Our newest learner just started with us at the end of the term, they are settling in really well and we are looking forward to getting to know them better.  So far they have shown us that they enjoy singing counting songs and exploring our hat bag.
