The children have enjoyed learning a few phonic sounds and the letter formations to go with them. They practice this in lots of different ways. There is a story, action and song to go with each sound and also some games on the big whiteboard.

They have been practicing their formations in different ways eg.  in sand, with shaving foam and on different types of whiteboards.

They also get the opportunity to hear and say lots of words beginning with those sounds. Here the children are finding snakes and spiders in the sticky, slimy spaghetti, when they were learning the ‘s’ sound.

The children loved making ants and apples with the plasticine and talking about the different body parts of the insects.

They have loved ‘making tea’ when learning the ‘t’ sound. And there have been some fun games to play too.
