Outdoor Adventures

The children were all suited and booted and raring to go on their trip today. They headed to Voxter woods first.

They walked all the way to the top of the woods and then had a  little rest and a class photo opportunity.

The children were keen to get to the play area and this was a fine opportunity to have snack.

There was so much to do and the children played so well together. There were lots of opportunities for exploring, investigating and using their imaginations. It was also great to see them learning how to take turns, help each other and practice so many skills in a different setting.

It was back on the bus and a drive over to Aith. A quick toilet stop and then they headed to Michaelswood. After all that playing they were hungry,

Michaelswood is such a fantastic place for children. They were excited to see the dinosaurs and run along the different paths to different areas.

They made up games in the toadstool area near the top of the hill and used the caterpillar as a rocket to take them up to space!

They were all in the bird hide drawing pictures, looking at the birds and books and using the binoculars to see what was going on outside.

The pirate ship and little play area was a hit with the children. Their imaginations are amazing! It was so lovely to see them all playing so well together.

There were a lot of tired little people on the bus on the way back to school.

the children have been looking at all the photos in class today and loved chatting about their day out. They have also been doing writing in P1 today.

P for Perfume

The children have been learning about the sound of the letter p. Today as one of their activities they were using pretty petals to make perfume.

There were lots of opportunities to chat about other things beginning with the ‘p’ sound while they were making beautiful smelling perfumes to go in their little bottles and containers. Also lots of colours, textures, smells and different parts of the flower to discuss too.
