The children were already good at naming some 2D shapes so it was great to learn more about the corners and sides and have fun creating pictures with them.
They also sorted shapes and used them to draw pictures and create patterns.
They then moved onto learning about some 3D shapes. It was great fun trying to find cylinders, cuboids, spheres, etc all around the school.
They soreted shapes into ones that can stack/can’t stack, ones that can roll/can’t roll and built some fantastic models with them.
They used 3D shapes in the craft/junk modelling area to make robots and learnt lots of new skills for joining the different parts.
