Well done to Hope and Blayre, who are this year’s Don Bosco Winners! We are so proud of how you both live our school values each day.
Today your names were placed on our Don Bosco Award Board in our reception , forever a part of St. Fergus Primary School. We are looking forward to presenting you both with your trophies in the new term.
Good morning everyone, I hope you enjoyed your weekend and got to spend some time outside. Today we are back to work so will be starting with literacy, numeracy and then a fun science activity of your choice.

Literacy
Task 1
LI – We are revising the ‘zz’ digraph.
Today we have a different video, once you have watched it think of as many words as you can with the ‘zz’ sound and write them in your jotter.
Write 3 good quality sentences about your weekend, you can challenge yourself by writing more. Use your knowledge of taught sounds to help you sound out and spell words. Remember your punctuation too.

Science
I have linked a website below that has lots of fantastic ideas that you could try. As they all require different things I want you to pick what experiment you can do with what you have at home. Always have an adult help you. I can’t wait to see what one you pick!
Before you start your experiment I want you to talk about what you think is going to happen, this is called a hypothesis. Once you get to the end of it I want you to talk about what did happen and if your hypothesis was right. I also want you to have a discussion about why you think it happened.
Good Morning and Happy Monday to you all. I hope you had a lovely weekend and had a chance to relax in the sun, yesterday afternoon. Can you believe that we only have two more weeks of home learning tasks before we break for the summer? I cannot believe that the time has passed so quickly since we stopped in March. You will start to get more information about arrangements for returning to school in August soon and remember that that you will need to think about speeches applying for Head Boy and Head Girl!
There will be another activity for the RL Olympics which I will post later. Your tasks are posted in Google Classroom and I have them listed here;
Task 1 – Think about your friends you have missed from school and take 5 min to say the school prayer, with a Hail Mary and Our Father to ask for them to be kept safe.
Task 2 – Cosmic Yoga – Join Jamie for some meditation before you get started with your tasks. Relax and think clearly to complete your tasks quickly and accurately.
Look at the Outdoor Art Grid and choose a task which you have the resources to complete. Take a picture of your activity and let me know what you have made.
There is a video clip with questions and quiz, explanation sheet and worksheet, Work your way through and let me know how you get on?
I an at the school again today at the hub. Remember you can message me if you need help with anything and the message comes to my phone. Try to complete your tasks today as we plan for bringing the term to an end.
Good morning P7 and Happy Monday. I can’t believe we only have 2 more weeks to go!
You have a busy fortnight ahead although sadly not as busy as we would have originally wanted.
On Thursday you will be visiting St. Andrew’s (and other children have or will also be visiting Castlehead and St. Benedict’s). Thursday would also have been our Prom. I thought it would be nice to have a TEAM MEET on Thursday to have a mini party. Come along with juice and snacks, and if you wanted to (just for fun) wear something fancy!! I have invited Mrs McDonald and Mrs Rowley along to our meeting too so that they can join the party!
Good Morning Primary 3! It is FRIDAY WOOHOO!!! We have come to the end of another week and you once again have worked so hard. Try to work through your virtual classroom and complete all the tasks if you can.
Well done for all of your hard work yet again! We are going to start with some Literacy, then Music, P.E. and finally our Friday challenge.
Morning Prayer
Literacy – Morning Routine
With us not being in school I am interested to find out what your new routine is for the day, I know everyone’s will be different but that’s a good thing! Do you work and then play? Or do you have a slow start to your day, play for a while and then work? Remember to include times in your routine, these don’t have to be exact. Here is what my morning looks like:
7:30 – Wake up
7:45 – have breakfast and watch the news
8:30 – upload your daily tasks
8:40 – shower and get dressed
9:00 – start school work
12:30 – lunch
Break
Music – From Miss. P
Today we are going to start by listening to a piece of music called
In the Hall of the Mountain King by a composer called Grieg
First of all, I would
Like you to listen and watch, then clap the rhythm. Do you remember what all your rhythms are called?
Next, we are going to compose our own body beat. First, listen to Ollie, he is using 4 names. I’d like you to choose 4 names and make up your own body percussion.
Lastly, I’d like you to listen to this.
This is John, one of my friends and he has
recorded this. Do you recognise this song?
Your family will recognise it too.
Can you spot how many instruments he is playing and what they are?
Pick an animal and only use words to describe it, you can’t say the name! Pick an animal and think of ways to describe it, for example if I thought of a lion I might say “big, furry, scary, massive paws, very long and large teeth, longer hair around their face that looks red.” And hopefully someone will be able to guess the animal that you are thinking of.
Good morning Primary 5. Fantastic job yesterday. I have been so impressed with your numeracy work this week it has been fantastic! Well done on completing such interesting booklets yesterday!!
Health and well being:
Today I would like you to do Joe Wicks Workout!
Literacy:
Today we are going to write an imaginative piece set in the Scottish wildreness.
I want you to close your eyes and imagine you are in the Scottish Wilderness, what can you hear? What can you see? What can you feel? What can you smell?
Remember to use lots of adjectives and the FANTASTICS to help you!
Numeracy:
Circles: Today you are continuing to look at volume.
Squares: Today you are continuing to look at volume.
Diamonds: Today you are continuing to look at weight.

With an adult, research how human activity can endanger animal life and discuss my feelings about it.
