STEM & K’NEX in the Library

Stromness Academy is involved with STEM  which provides opportunities for pupils to become involved with Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths which enables them to to develop creativity, problem-solving and employability skills.

Recently, the school took delivery of two boxes of K’NEX construction kits, which for the meantime have been placed in the school library. A small group of pupils ranging from S2 to S5 entusiastically set to building some models.

Both the models move, the truck being battery driven. The helicopter requires being ‘wound up’.
