Senior Options Booklet 2021-22

Please find attached the Subject Information Booklet for senior students for 2021-22.

S4 pupils should be choosing their best 5 subjects going forward. S5 pupils should choose 5 subjects.  If choosing S6 Service, this should be discussed with Ms Morrison in the first instance. All students should be looking at college & university entry requirements if this is an intended pathway.

SDS support is also available if required and this can be arranged via your Pupil Support teacher.

S2 into S3 Options Booklet

Please find attached the “Subject Information” booklet for S2 into S3 subject choices for 2021.
We’ll be asking S2 to select soon, keep your eyes open 🙂
S2 will all study Maths, English, RE, PSHE and PE(core)
When the time comes, S2 pupils need to pick 6 First Choices, 6 Backup choices and 6 choices they don’t want to study.
S2 need to pick at least one;
  • Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
  • Social Subject (Geography, History or Modern Studies).
Please don’t pick too many subjects from one curricular area, select a ‘broad’ range of choices from all over the school
The S2 Team will look at all choices to make sure S2 have made the best choice and we may come back to S2 with suggested changes.
Please keep in mind that all subjects may not run, some classes may be over/under-subscribed hence the school may have to review individual option choices.

Blended Learning

We begin our Blended Learning journey and welcome students back into the school for face to face teaching on Monday the 15th of March. Students should attend in full school uniform (no PE kit needed) with an outdoor jacket and report to the Netball Courts before being admitted into the Games Hall.

Remember when you are not in school you will still be following the remote learning approach that we’ve had over the last 9 weeks & on your PINK timetable but please be mindful that some of your teachers may be teaching in school & not available online at certain times.

Please make sure you attend on your given day, wear your face covering at all times whilst in the school (in class, in corridors & social areas) & sanitise your hands regularly. We look forward to see you on Monday – S5/6 Tuesday – S1 Wednesday – S4 Thursday – S3 Friday – S2

College Applications

Students who are applying to college for next year (2021/22) can use the attached PDF file to help navigate to the various colleges in Lanarkshire, Glasgow & Falkirk/Stirling/Livingston areas.  All that is needed is to click on the image of the college and it will take you directly to the college website where you will be able to search for courses and apply.
As the application process is now live it is recommended that students apply as soon as they can.  Students in S4 & S5 should discuss their intention to apply with their Pupil Support Teacher or Year Head.  We would also recommend that students in S6 should look at applying even if they have applied to University through UCAS, it is always good to have a backup option.
