6. DrumChanter

DrumChanter is a piping and snare drum project that introduces P6 & P7 pupils from a community cluster of 6 primary schools, to the ever popular traditional world of Scottish pipe bands.

This is a classroom based project that takes place during the school day where the pupils have an opportunity to take a musical journey from primary provision through to secondary school, then into the NLSPB if desired and then into the local NL community where their talents can continue into adulthood.

The pupil’s in this project will start on a chanter or a snare drum pad, stand & sticks before moving onto the real instruments at High School.

The opportunity to learn Tenor Drum & Bass Drum will also be offered.
