NL YMI PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ CHOIR 

The North Lanarkshire YMI Primary Schools’ Choir offers all pupils in P5, 6 and 7 the opportunity to meet, and sing with other like minded pupils with the option to attend one of 2 cluster group rehearsals that meet on Tuesday and Wednesday each week from January-March – one in Motherwell and the other in Coatbridge.  Pupils can opt to attend the centre that best suits them.  Both clusters then rehearse together in preparation for a performance in March in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall as part of the North Lanarkshire Annual Music Group’s showcase concert.

The choir also provides the opportunity for pupils to sing in two-part harmony, to audition for solo parts, as well as to sing in cross rhythms.

We are very keen for pupils to experience the joy of choral singing at a high level and to learn new repertoire covering a variety of musical styles.
