The NL Big Band provides our young people with an avenue into the tradition of jazz music which explores the rich vein of contemporary music that was born in the early part of the 20th century in the USA.
This ensemble is open to pupils who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone or rhythm section instruments.
Throughout the session the pupils are exposed to varied and challenging repertoire and experience the thrill of playing jazz and swing music in a “Big Band” environment. The orchestra provides great experiences and a solid grounding for our young people who are keen to pursue this particular genre of music.
