Hi Everyone. As usual we have been busy, busy, busy over the last few weeks.

We have been working hard on our spelling words and exploring different ways to help us spell them correctly. We enjoy building them with magnetic letters, write them with chalk or use rainbow colours. We are trying really hard to use these words in our writing and are becoming more confident at writing sentences independently.

In numeracy we are almost at the end of our block on addition and will be moving on to subtraction soon, but we will continue to keep our addition skills sharp by playing lots of games, using the addition strategies we have learned and continuing to practise our number stories regularly, it would be great if we could keep practising these at home too!

This week has been the start of Lent and we went to the Church on Ash Wednesday to receive our ashes. Everyone was very proud of how well we behaved. We have made some Lenten promises  and we are going to try very hard to keep to them and to encourage each other.

We are continuing with our Fairyland topic for another few weeks, because we love it so much. Last week we read the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, which we really loved, but know we would never do what Goldilocks did and go into someone’s house without being invited in! We watched Mrs O’ Neill make some porridge for us and then got to try it. Some of us have decided it’s our new favourite food!

Next week is Book Week and we are really looking forward to reading and hearing extra stories.

Thanks for reading our blog.
