In arriving at our improvement priorities, we took account of the National Concordat, North Lanarkshire LLS Service Plan, the audit of last year’s improvement plan and engagement with staff, parents/carers and learners. We also took account of Curriculum for Excellence, legislative responsibilities in respect of parental involvement, health promotion and equalities.
Improvement Priority 1:
To ensure consistent high quality learning and teaching experiences for all pupils, with a particular focus on continuing to improve the curriculum and approaches to language and literacy from Nursery to Primary 7. Including pace, challenge and differentiation to meet the needs of all learners and a focus on the progression of skills.
Improvement Priority 2:
To enhance learners’ experiences through the provision of further opportunities for learners apply the skills they have learned in mathematics and numbers across the curriculum and in a wider range of contexts. Including pace, challenge and differentiation to meet the needs of all learners and a focus on the progression of skills and assessment.
Improvement Priority 3:
Refresh and update knowledge and understanding of approaches to Assessment which will support Professional Judgement on achieving a level and identifying next steps for learning with learners.
