Health Week

We have had a fantastic week this week. It’s been Health Week and we have been doing lots of additional health activities.

On Monday we got a visit from Fiona who is a dental nurse. We learned the importance of brushing our teeth at night and to remember not to rinse our mouth with water once we have brushed our teeth.

Also on Monday Mr McKenna showed us how to make a healthy smoothie. We used bananas, strawberries, yogurt and milk. It was delicious ! It would be a great smoothie to have in the morning to give us energy for the day.

Tuesday was a fab day, we went to the Church hall and to our delight Miss Trainor was there to teach us a new dance. It was great to see her and so much fun learning the dance. She thought we were brilliant!

We also learned some very important life skills, we learned what to do if someone has a serious accident. We know that we have to shake their shoulder and ask in a loud voice  ‘Are you ok?’, we also know it’s important not to try  and move them. We learned the number to dial in an emergency is 999 and when we are asked a question we speak in a clear voice. We know that we will probably never need to do this but it’s a great life skill to have.

Thanks for reading our blog.
