Eco School Update

St Gerard’s Eco Committee are working really hard to achieve our first green flag. We have elected our members for the year and are working on Litter, Health and Wellbeing and Waste Minimisation. These are the areas this year which we will focus on to achieve our green flag status. We have an Eco code, by the winning class P5/6. We also have our school Eco mascot “Green Flag Greg”. The whole school has been involved in Eco lessons and have attended Eco assemblies to become more Eco friendly. Please check our school blog for more Eco up-dates.  If you have any suggestions or can offer your help in any way, please leave a comment on our school blog or contact the school.

Many thanks,

Mr Harkins and the Eco Committee.

Kilbowie August 2014 – Day Four

Despite the forecast for rain, today has turned out to be glorious! We have enjoyed another day of activities in the sun.

Today we have been skiing, kayaking, coasteering, and rock climbing. We can’t believe how quickly our week has passed. We have had an amazing fun-filled time here. Tonight we have rounded up all the fun with the famous Kilbowie disco.

We have one more sleep to go before we head home tomorrow. We are looking forward to sharing all of our Kilbowie stories with our friends and family.

See you tomorrow!

Kilbowie August 2014 – Day 3

We have all had another fantastic day at Kilbowie.

Today has been packed full of more fun activities and new adventures. Many of us have been gorge walking. We braved the cold and made it all the way up the river to the waterfall. We have also been skiing. By the end of the session we all made excellent progress and some were even able to ski from the very top of the slope to the bottom without falling.

We have all been fed now and are getting ready for our night time activities.

Mr Conaghan has arrived and is already joining in the fun.

Another update will follow tomorrow at the same time.

Day 2 Kilbowie August 2014

Today has been another fantastic day up at Kilbowie. We have had glorious sunshine all day, which  has allowed us to get out on the water and go exploring. Some children went sailing towards Oban harbour, while others learned to kayak and canoe. We have had the pleasure of Derek’s safari…. what an experience that was!!!

We are all showered and ready for dinner now before another round of activities tonight.

Everyone is really enjoying the experience so far and learning a great deal.

We are trying our best to upload some photos.

Please check here tomorrow at the same time for another daily update.

Kilbowie August 2014 – Day One

We have arrived safe and sound and are enjoying the first of many activities. We have settled into our rooms and have even managed to make our own beds! After a quick lunch we ventured straight outside to get started. Some of us have been in the sea already. We all managed to make it out in one piece, although some of our wellies did not!

Watch this space – photos of all our fun to follow!
