There are 5 groups of vertebrates which are mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Have a look at the information on the posters below to find out about these groups. Then complete the worksheet ‘Vertebrates Animal Facts’. For this task, put a tick or a cross in the boxes to show the true statements for each animal. The answer sheet comes with it, that you can check at the end. For each statement, read it clearly and then look at the different groups of animals. If the statement is true for the groups, put a tick or a cross in the box. If the statement is false, do not put anything in the box. For example, statement 1 says ‘It is cold-blooded’, so you should put a tick or a cross in the boxes of animals that are cold-blooded.

Easter Holidays

Good morning Primary 4/5. I hope you are all well and have been staying at home. This is the start of our Easter holidays. You have all worked so hard this term and deserve a break. I have come up with some Easter activities you could try at home during the holidays. I hope you enjoy doing some of them and enjoy the holidays as best you can. This week is Holy Week so there are also a few links to look at with your families.

Hope you all stay safe and have a happy Easter!

These are some fun activities you could do at home:

• Create your own Easter egg or treasure hunt for people at home to do. Hide some treasure or eggs and make up your own clues to help them find the treasure.

• Set up a simple obstacle course in the garden, or even the living room, and give it a fun Easter theme. Lots of hopping, eggs on spoons, egg throwing and catching, and maybe even some bowling with a hard-boiled egg to knock over the pins.

• Create your own Easter bonnet and have a little Easter parade at home.

• Have an egg and spoon race.

• Egg rolling – boil an egg and decorate it, then roll it down a hill or along the ground and see who can roll their egg the furthest.

• Create an acrostic poem about Easter. Using the letters of the word, create a sentence for each one and spell Easter down the left side of the page.

• Draw a Spring picture with colourful flowers. You could even send your picture to a relative who may need to stay at home alone just now.

• If you have not made an Easter card, make an Easter card to send to someone.
