Our fantastic school choir have been working extremely hard in recent weeks to prepare for their Music Festival performance in the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow. The festival took place on Tuesday and the choir performed their pieces beautifully. They were awarded second place in the competition and received excellent feedback from the adjudicator. We are extremely proud of their achievement!
Primary 1/2 are selling this lovely flower for Mother’s Day!
Bring a pound to school next week to order your flower!
Flowers will be delivered by Mr Michael’s Florist Shop
on Friday 28th March.
Primary 1/2 had great fun today!
We visited Mr Michael’s Flower Shop to pick a flower to sell to all the boys and girls for Mother’s Day. We walked all the way to Bellshill Main Street then back to school in one afternoon, we will be tired tonight. Miss Gizzie said we were so well behaved and that we all showed Mr Michael our great manners!
We are going to come round the classes tomorrow to show you three beautiful flowers and you can help us pick which one to sell.
It our last full day at Kilbowie and we have definitely made the most of it! Today we have packed in yet more climbing, canoeing, kayaking, hillwalking and even a safari!
Then we put on our dancing shoes and partied away our last night together with a disco. We have had early birthday celebrations for Clare who is 12 tomorrow. Happy birthday Clare!
We’re now having a bit of free time. Then it’s off to bed for one more sleep at Kilbowie before we set off for home.
We have had the best week ever!
Day 3 has been another busy one for us up here at Kilbowie. We have braved the weather to go sailing, rock climbing, biking and navigating.
We are feeling so proud of ourselves for doing things we never knew we could do. We have just recieved our ashes during our Ash Wednesdsay service and are now getting ready for our night time scavenger hunt.
Happy birthday to Michaela who has celebrated her birthday up here with the Kilbowie gang!
We have had yet another super fun day at Kilbowie!
The Rights Steering Group are delighted to announce that we have gained our Recognition of Commitment award for our Rights Respecting School work!
This means we are aware of Children’s rights and responsibilities, that we show respect for our own and our friend’s rights. It also means we are super workers and show great home work too! Well done us!
We have now achieved the first step towards St Gerard’s becoming a Rights Respecting School. Our next step is working towards our Level 1 Award and we will share information about that soon.
Thank you to everyone for their efforts in helping St Gerard’s become an even better school.
Rights Steering Group and a proud Miss Gizzie
Well…the weather has not stayed dry for our second day at Kilbowie but that is certainly not dampening our spirits! We have had a busy day gorge walking, rock climbing and skiing.
We had a lovely lunch and lots of warm showers for those of us who were in the river!
We are looking forward to our night time activities!
What an exciting start to our adventure we have had today! After a quick lunch on arrival, we got straight into our groups for our first activities.
We have been walking and canoeing so far. Some of us have even jumped off the pier already!
The weather has been lovely, fingers crossed it keeps up!
Everyone is having some free time now before we start our night time activities.
We are having a ball!
