On Monday, we had Ms Kelso as our teacher. We focused on balanced arguments where we considered the pros and cons of Social Media. We also continued working on 12 hour and 24 hour time.
In Literacy, we created amazing Bonfire Night acrostic poems and completed a comprehension on the diaries of a WW2 evacuee. As Thursday was 5th November, we went outside and created exploding firework words in the playground.
We started Remembrance Day art where we created silhouettes and look forward to showing you these once they are completed.
We have been watching Newsround as much as we could this week as we were all keen to find out how the USA elections were going. Exciting stuff!
For our topic this week, we have been learning what happened to the children in WW2 and discovered that most of them were evacuated to the country to protect them from the bombing. We compared what we would put in our suitcases today to what they would have taken with them during the war. It was quiet different!
We learned all about dyslexia for Dyslexia Awareness Week and are very proud of Harriet for volunteering to be an ambassador for this.
We enjoyed another visit from Gary Moore this week and he really put us through our paces with some high intensity training. We also enjoyed playing football and basketball during our outdoor P.E. sessions.
Mrs Gaw and Mrs Sheikh were very proud of us this week as we were awarded ‘most improved’ class in the dinner hall. We are looking forward to our extra 15 minutes playtime for this next week.
