This week we have completed PASS assessments to give our teachers an idea of how we are feeling now that we have returned to school. We loved having the Apple iPads for the day and used them for numeracy and research too.
We completed our first baseline and the title was ‘My Best Day Ever’. We have been preparing for this over the past few weeks and the results should all be in shortly.
We enjoyed our weekly assembly with Mrs Robertson which was about keeping safe. This also gave us some very good advice and reinforced how important it is to talk about our feelings.
We are continuing with our class novel ‘Wonder’ and are really enjoying reading about all of the other characters’ perspectives and emotions. We thoroughly enjoyed designing a Halloween costume for a chosen character, giving reason as to why we chose that particular costume and how it relates to the character’s personality.
In numeracy we are continuing to revise mental math strategies as well as previously taught topics before assessing our current level.
This week we gained an understanding of what stereotyping means and Mrs Sheikh was very impressed at how much we already understood by this term. We finished our lesson with a riddle about a surgeon. Please ask us to share this with you.
Finally we are absolutely delighted to announce our new Captains and Vice Captains!!!
