PATHS at Gibshill

What is PATHS?

The PATHS programme helps children to develop their social skills and enables them to have an awareness of their own and others emotions and provides them with positive skills for communicating their feelings and managing their behaviour.

Using stories, puppets and discussion PATHS supports children to develop :

  • Confidence
  • Ability to take part in discussions
  • An Understanding of their feelings and how to manage them

How the children learn about PATHS at Gibshill:

Each week the children take part in a 30 minute PATHS session. During each session the children learn about the 4 PATHS characters and the different emotions and feelings they experience. The children then have opportunities, in small groups, to discuss their own feelings and any social situations that they find challenging such as sharing and turn-taking.
