PATHS at Gibshill

What is PATHS?

The PATHS programme helps children to develop their social skills and enables them to have an awareness of their own and others emotions and provides them with positive skills for communicating their feelings and managing their behaviour.

Using stories, puppets and discussion PATHS supports children to develop :

  • Confidence
  • Ability to take part in discussions
  • An Understanding of their feelings and how to manage them

How the children learn about PATHS at Gibshill:

Once a week the children, in the 3-5 room, take part in a PATHS session within their keyworker group.

The children explore the 4 PATHS puppets and have opportunities to discuss their own feelings and social situations that they find challenging such as sharing and turn-taking. Staff adapt each session to ensure they are appropriate for children’s age and stage.
