Children’s Wellbeing

Gibshill Children’s Centre is committed to providing a safe, secure and nurturing learning environment for every child who attends our Centre.

Through play and learning experiences, our staff promote and nurture children’s health and wellbeing in various ways including:

  • providing healthy snacks and lunches
  • we are very lucky to have a wonderful outdoor learning environment where our children can grow their own fruit and vegetables and experience how they can use these to cook healthy recipes.
  • PATHS gives children opportunities to learn about their emotions and how to manage challenging social situations
  • the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is embedded throughout our practice. We support the children to develop their knowledge and understanding of their rights through meaningful experiences.

We understand that all children learn at their own pace and know that sometimes children may require additional help to support their learning and development.

In this instance, we work in partnership with parents to ensure children learn and develop in a way that is appropriate to their needs and stage of development.
