Parental Partnership

Gibshill Children’s Centre recognises that parents are key educators in children’s learning. Parents know their children best!! Therefore, it is important for the nursery to build positive strong relationships, with parents, to ensure the best early years’ experience for the children.

We promote productive partnerships with parents and are committed to ensuring that parents feel involved in their child’s learning some of our approaches include:

  • Lending Library
  • Wall displays
  • Bookbug
  • Online Learning Journals
  • Regular correspondence e.g., emails, Twitter, and newsletters
  • Progress evenings/phone calls

A settling in meeting will be arranged approximately 4 weeks after your child has started nursery and will have further opportunities to meet with your child’s keyworker throughout the year.

We operate an open-door policy within Gibshill Children’s Centre. Parents and carers are always welcome to come and discuss any issues or concerns they may have with Head of Centre and staff within the Centre. Information will be passed on to you about your child regularly by your child’s key worker or another member of the staff team. We kindly, ask that parents keep the nursery informed of any changes at home such as, change of address, contact details or family circumstances. Please be assured that any sensitive information is kept in the strictest confidence
