We’ve had a busy and fun week of learning in class!
In Literacy, Primary 1 have been learning two new sounds: ‘h’ and ‘w’, and have enjoyed spotting and practising these in words. Primary 2 have been working hard on making words using the ‘ug’ blend. We also started an exciting new writing sprint called “The Describing Bubble.” The children thought of lots of different words to describe objects and used these ideas to build more interesting sentences.
In Numeracy, we continued our work on subtraction. The children used a number line to help them count back confidently. A highlight of the week was playing bingo, which the class absolutely loved!
With Mrs Robinson, the children learned some Scottish songs and got creative by making tartan bunting, linking nicely with our learning about Scotland.
Some of the children’s highlights of the week were:
EM – I liked going to the gym hall.
AM – I liked Tae Kwon Do.
KA – I liked punching the pad at Tae Kwon Do.
AB – I liked running around the track at Tae Kwon Do.
KO – I liked learning new sounds and letters.
HM – I liked the big number song.
BR – I liked number bingo.
KH – I liked making tartan bunting.
KJO – I liked learning Scottish songs.
Well done to everyone for a great week of learning!
Have a lovely weekend!
